Welcome to your box of May and a delicious rosé!
Route 17, Moishe’s newest exclusive, a collaboration with Provence winemakers to blend the south of France with our New Yorker needs.
As mentioned on members’ collectible card, this slightly sweet, yet fresh, fun wine goes remarkably well with turmeric red lentils.
So cook up a batch and give it a try!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup red lentils
- 3-4 cups vegetable stock (chicken broth works well too!)
- 1 small chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped carrots
- 1.5 cups diced tomatoes (fresh are better, but canned tomatoes work too!)
- 1.5 tsp turmeric
- 1 tbs olive oil
Preparation:
- Heat up a pot and start sautéing the onions and carrots in olive oil for about five minutes.
- Throw in the turmeric, tomatoes and lentils and stir for about 30 seconds to mix up all the flavor.
- Start with three cups of broth and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and let simmer until lentils are cooked through. If you like your lentils more like a soup, you may want to add more broth.
- Salt and pepper to taste.
So that’s the base, but from there you can go crazy, add more veggies like celery…perhaps throw in some cumin and garlic.
The fact is, this rosé can take on the flavor and together, make for a healthy and delicious meal!
L’chaim!
